Interim journalism Dean Bettye A. Grable describes Godwin as a consummate, highly experienced, innovative executive media management professional whose leadership is inspirational.

Godwin, who has spent the past 14 years at CBS News, was appointed executive vice president of news in February 2019. She was in charge of overseeing the launch of the CBS Evening News with Norah O Donnell.
