Panama City Florida native Kim Godwin, FAMU grad, named president of ABC News

Interim journalism Dean Bettye A. Grable describes Godwin as a consummate, highly experienced, innovative executive media management professional whose leadership is inspirational.   
“She raised funding for our journalism programs and motivated other alumni to do the same,” Grable said. “Most importantly Kim focused on helping students access and garner internships and jobs with some of the most respected award-winning global media corporations.”  
Kim Godwin comes to ABC after 14 years at CBS News
Godwin, who has spent the past 14 years at CBS News, was appointed executive vice president of news in February 2019. She was in charge of overseeing the launch of the "CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell."
