The initial 911 call according to Police Sources came in just before 8 00 last night with the caller reporting seeing a flash in the sky. Nypd harbor units recovered offshore. The nypd believes at this point, only one person was onboard this twoseater plane. They recovered debris including a wing, wheel and tail according to sources. Were told the plane was headed from philadelphia last night to maine. The faa is investigating. The nypd does plan to resume the search for more debris, anything else that might be left later this morning. As the suspects were threatening to shoot, they say a Newark Police officer who sometimes stops by the gas station happened to be in the area and another attendant flagged him down and told the officer what was going on and they say the officer ordered the suspect to drop the gun. When the suspect refused, they say thats when the cop fired one shot, injuring the suspect in the torso area. He was quickly taken into custody as was the second have a gun.
