A 35-year-old Auburn man who was on supervised release after being convicted in 2016 of receiving child pornography was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury on a new child pornography charge. Christopher Rondeau, 35, will be arraigned in federal court in Worcester at a later date on a charge of possession of child pornography. Rondeau was initially arrested and charged on Nov. 6. He has been held without bail since being arraigned in November. Rondeau was convicted in 2016 and sentenced to 68 months in prison followed by seven years of supervised release. He was released from federal custody in August 2019 and was on supervised release at the time of his November arrest. ....
Staff report Dec 22, 2020 BOSTON â Two area man were arrested Monday and charged in federal court in Boston in connection with a scheme to use stolen identities to fraudulently obtain disaster loans from the Small Business Administration and to launder the funds. Darwyn Joseph, 24, of Lawrence, and Ramon Joseph Cruz, 24, of Methuen, were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft. Following initial appearances in federal court, the defendants were detained pending detention hearings scheduled for Wednesday. According to charging documents, the defendants were involved in a conspiracy to use stolen identity information of United States citizens to apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans. ....

Standard-Times BOSTON – A married couple, formerly from New Bedford, was arrested Thursday night in Texas on federal fraud charges arising from their claims for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance funds. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney s Office, Tiffany Pacheco, a/k/a Tiffany Tavery, 35, and Arthur Pacheco, 47, who, until recently, resided in New Bedford, were charged by criminal complaint with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Tiffany Pacheco was also charged with one count of wire fraud. The defendants were arrested in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night. According to charging documents, Tiffany was hired by the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance in April 2020, shortly after her release from federal prison following a conviction for aggravated identity theft. ....
