Being sort of outwardly masculine. i think that s a sad thing. i think there s a beauty in raising boys that want to embrace this. people are all different. there s not one great kind of masculinity or femininity. we want people to be who they are. we don t want people to feel bad about the nature of their sex. some of the instincts that come naturally with that. i think that s why this show is so popular. i think it gets back to some of that. people want to watch it and soak it up. it s popular with men and women. i just turned 31. in this dating culture, there s certain things that i was raised to go, get the tab. get the door. you start to re-visit those things because in modern day culture, that s not acceptable. what i m learning, martha, in this whole dating experience is that that means that the person isn t for me then. i m not going to compromise my value system that my parents raised with me with for 30-plus ....
