The Hill County Behavioral Health Local Advisory Council discussed Monday public service announcements to raise awareness about and to normalize mental health issues.
LAC members have spoken in previous meetings about making PSAs that can play around town in audio form, or in video form online, letting local people who struggle with mental health issues tell their stories of how they got help in order to normalize the issue.
LAC Chair Andi Daniel said she is looking for people willing to share their stories or expertise in the field of mental and behavioral health care and be interviewed. ....

The Hill County Behavioral Health Local Advisory Council heard, at its monthly meeting Monday, a presentation on the Sober Life program and its possible expansion to Havre.
Dean Snow of Alliance for Youth in Great Falls spoke to LAC members about the program and explain what exactly it does.
He said it’s an organization started by people in recovery, for people in recovery, providing connection and purpose in the form of activities to help them on their journey.
He said the organization holds events like dance fitness classes, volleyball games, women empowerment events, as well as gath. ....

Hill County Behavioral Health Local Advisory Council members discussed plans for a $20,000 grant received by the county from the Addictive and Mental Disorders Division of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, and how it could be used.
LAC Chair Andi Daniel said she spoke with Hill County Public Health Director and Health Officer Kim Larson, who told her that the terms of the grant, which did not include many of the activities council members hoped to use the funds for, could be amended to include training and service increases as possible uses for the funds. ....
