In a statement, Mylah Aurora Faye Carino, director of the National Economic Development Authority in Northern Mindanao (NEDA-10), said the growth rate surpassed their projection between 5.1 percent and 6.1 percent. "We didn't expect that our growth would even surpass our estimates, and more importantly, the growth was even higher than the nominal value of our GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product)," Carino said. "It was even higher than the pre-pandemic figure, and the net gained was more than enough to compensate for our losses in 2020," she said. Carino was referring to the PHP872.9 billion worth of GRDP which was higher than the pre-pandemic GRDP level of PHP867.4 billion in 2019. COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao's (BARMM) economy has posted a 7.5 percent growth in 2021, a regional official said Friday. Citing a report from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), BARMM Interior Minister Naguib Sinarimbo said the figure elevated BARMM as "the second-fastest-growing region" in the country. "The numbers are showing what the Government of the Day has been doing with human health and social work activities registering the highest growth at 22 percent," Sinarimbo said. Mining and quarrying also registered substantial growth at 20.2 percent; accommodation and food service activities, 17.9 percent; construction, 12.2 percent; and financial and insurance activities, 10.6 percent. "All other industries also registered positive growths reflecting the infra-spending of the regional government," he said. Prior to this, the country on Wednesday night also received 36,600 doses of reformulated Pfizer vaccine.
