After six months, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra to play for crowds again this week

For the first time in six months, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra will be onstage in front of an audience this week.
For the occassion, the orchestra will be playing Symphony No.2, also known as Song of a New Race, by American composer William Grant Still.
The piece was chosen by MSO assistant conductor Thomas Le Duc-Moreau. Only 25 when he debuted with the orchestra two years ago, the youngest assistant conductor in its history and his musicians are excited to be back in front of a crowd, said programming director Marianne Perron.
Although practice has taken place online, nothing replaces the “sharing and communion” of live performances, she said. ....

Vaccine appointments now open to people 60 and older in Monteregie, Outaouais

With additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on the way, the age limit to receive a shot has been lowered in more regions outside of Montreal.
The ClicSante website showed Tuesday morning the age limit is now 60 and older in regions including the Outaouais and Monteregie. Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the North Shore are also vaccinating people 60 and older. 
Elsewhere, vaccines are still limited to people 65 and older. 
It also appears that Quebec could move onto the next priority group for vaccine distrbution. Health minister Christian Dube said in a tweet Tuesday morning that the province is adjusting operations, which he noted is normal when changing priority group. ....
