It s hoped the Garda station in Tubbercurry can be extended, as the OPW has acquired an adjacent building on Teeling Street.
Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Dara Mulvey, says he has for some time been highlighting the current inadequate facilities at the Tubbercurry Garda Station, and stressed the need for greater investment in the facility.
Councillor Mulvey told Midwest News he has now received confirmation that the adjacent building has been acquired by the OPW, and he see this as a first step in establishing a more adequate facility for Gardai in Tubbbercurry.
