LAHORE:The 61st meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held at the Civil Secretariat under the chairmanship of Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat.
The committee reviewed the overall law and order situation in the province and the security of the touring South African cricket team. Basharat directed the law enforcement agencies to provide foolproof security to the South African cricket team everywhere in the province. All district, provincial and federal departments will liaise effectively for better security arrangements, he said.
He said that all measures should be taken against crimes like murder, kidnapping for ransom and robbery in the province. Police should also ensure patrolling during fog and night to reduce crime rate. ....

LAHORE:Effective measures will be adopted for improving working of Punjab s Cooperatives Department, said Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperatives Raja Basharat while chairing a meeting of the Cooperatives Department at Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday. Secretary cooperatives, secretary finance and officers concerned were present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed the development plans and assets of the department of cooperatives while secretary cooperatives gave a briefing. The meeting decided to bring legal amendments for the use of frozen funds of the department. The proposal to set up a Cooperative Development Fund to consolidate all scattered funds was agreed upon. It was also decided to set up a board of directors to auction the properties of the department and make effective use of available funds. LAHORE : Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik and Chairman Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Malik Muhammad Azam and PTI delegations called on Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar at Governor House here on Saturday.
Governor Ch Sarwar said PDM should refrain from doing politics on terrorism.
