LAHORE: The Punjab government will provide clean drinking water to the public by using multiple solutions and different treatment technologies instead of installing water treatment plants without need assessment.
Under the new strategy of phase-1 of the project titled ‘Provision of Clean Drinking Water’ by the Punjab Aab-i-Pak Authority (Papa), seven treatment methods will be used to supply water to Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan. Initially under phase-1, up to 4.7 million people would be provided clean drinking water. Later, the facility would be extended to another 65.3 million people.

LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that a new era of real change in the province as well as the country has started now.
In a media statement issued on Saturday, he said that for the first time, projects had been designed according to the needs of people with the consultation of public representatives.
He added that every city would be given a separate development package. He said that personal liking and disliking affected the development projects in the past and resources were wasted by ignoring the public priorities.

LAHORE : Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik and Chairman Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Malik Muhammad Azam and PTI delegations called on Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar at Governor House here on Saturday.
Governor Ch Sarwar said PDM should refrain from doing politics on terrorism.
The war on terror is not the war of the government or any single political party. It is the war of 220 million Pakistanis. India is the biggest facilitator of terrorists in Pakistan, the governor said.
Talking during the meeting, the governor said PDM is protecting only personal and political interests instead of protecting national interests.

LAHORE : The 43rd meeting of the Punjab Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business was held at Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
The meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat was attended by provincial ministers Raja Yasir Humayun and Rai Taimoor Bhatti, and the secretaries of relevant departments. The meeting approved the drafts of The Punjab Autonomous Bodies and Special Institutions of Education Bill 2019, the Taxila Museum Act and the Punjab Regulation of Plastic Shopping Bags Act 2020.
