LAHORE:Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has congratulated the nation on New Year and hoped Pakistan of 2021 will be more prosperous, developed and strong.
In his message on the New Year eve here Thursday, the chief minister reiterated the strong commitment that 2021 would be the year of fulfilling promises made with the people. Regrettably, the opposition tried to impede the wheel of development in 2020 but the people have totally rejected the negative politics of the PDM and it is better that the PDM should think for the country in 2021 by setting aside the politics of chaos and anarchy, the chief minister said. ....

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperatives Raja Basharat while talking to media here on Monday said that the PTI government wanted the opposition to come to the assembly to play its positive role and if it is serious about resigning, it should submit its resignation to the Speaker without further delay.
He added that there was no legal status for the resignations sent to the party leadership except merely fooling the people. He said that if the opposition resigned, the speaker would deal with their resignations in accordance with the law. He said that Imran Khan is the elected Prime Minister and the people have elected him for five years and he will not resign on anyone s childish wish. ....

LAHORE : The 43rd meeting of the Punjab Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business was held at Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
The meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat was attended by provincial ministers Raja Yasir Humayun and Rai Taimoor Bhatti, and the secretaries of relevant departments. The meeting approved the drafts of The Punjab Autonomous Bodies and Special Institutions of Education Bill 2019, the Taxila Museum Act and the Punjab Regulation of Plastic Shopping Bags Act 2020. The committee also recommended setting up University of Hafizabad, setting up analytical lab at Livestock Breeding Service Authority in South Punjab, de-notification of non-official members of Lahore Transport Company, appointment of two non-official members of Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council, nominations of members of Ravi Urban Development Authority and proposals for the Service Ru ....

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperatives Raja Basharat has said that the previous government did not base the Orange Line and Metro Bus projects on sustainable development model and due to wrong planning the present government has to pay Rs 8 to 10 billion annually in form of subsidy.
Therefore, the government is trying to make the project sustainable by removing its administrative and economic shortcomings, he said while addressing the first meeting of the Chief Minister s Special Committee on Orange Line Train and Metro Bus at the Civil Secretariat under his chairmanship on Thursday.
Provincial Minister for Transport Jahanzeb Khichi, Secretary Transport and heads of relevant agencies were present. The meeting reviewed the performance of Metro Bus, Orange Line Train and Feeder Bus Service. ....
