In regards to these comments, im happy to hear that theres no restriction as far as the number that the state is requiring us to teach to be all online. Im looking forward to hearing what that looks like, but im also looking forward to hearing what the e. L. D. Or anything along those requirements are, given what we are required to teach right now, and how thats connected to the assembly bills. Its clear that we have to teach e. L. D. , that there has to be instruct specific to certain groups. I dont recall any specific minutes or hours requirement, so that can be a point of clarification. Every now and again, we check in with some friends and Capital Advisors for more guidance, so i can ask that question. But e. L. D. As called out is specifically not an option. Needs or just feedback overall from our English Learners. As you can see from the presentation, there was definitely higher, you know, urgent requests from e. L. S and what that means for our work this fall, especially taking off, again, with this initial recommendation of Distance Learning in the fall or at least the first, you know, as they kick off the new academic year. Transparent and we can really go along and seeing what is happening at our sites, knowing that teachers and administration, students and families are not getting the support they need and can easily assume that is because we are not funding appropriately. And so, i think ultimately, this conversation is it is about the Police Department and what we as a School District want to have as far as the relationship with them. And what that really means to people. But its also about the overall just structure that we have that allows for these scenarios to play out. This is happening at our sites, at school sites and i need to be educated to understand they as Authority Figures perpetuate similar instances that cops are doing outside on the streets. Its not at the same level, but its still targeting black and brown kids and still taking them out of our classrooms and suspending them and kicking them out of our schools because of the Power Dynamics that were seeing cops dont know how to deal wi
Spoke of the wind and what it has been like to stand out there and to wait for the departure of Officer Sicknick and all the people can see represented in the high numbers of Law Enforcement, fbi agents and all those who support the u. S. Capitol police as well, who support our Law Enforcement, are outside the capitol. I understand Griff Jenkins is still with me. Youre in position to better be able to see this. Tell us whats happening. Reporter well, harris, right now were just watching these hundreds of u. S. Capitol Police Officers who have been standing firmly in the cold, in the wind, at attention for the last 30 minutes or so honoring their colleague and friend Brian Sicknick. The family here really has been a touching moment. They put out a statement saying they essentially thanked the capitol and congressional leadership for bestowing a historic honor on their fallen hero, saying their personal tragedy and loss is shared by our nation, brings hope for healing. Such a powerful me
