involving an elderly couple in martinez. the woman mistook her car s gas pedal for the break running over her husband and killing him this morning near alhambra valley road. police say the woman s in her 80s. her husband apparently helping her park the car in the garage. it s when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. she hit her husband and then crashed through the back wall of the garage, pinning him under the car. the man was rushed to the hospital where he died an hour later. switching gears, the bay area is baking on the hottest day of this heat wave. joe vazquez is live right now in one of the hottest spots pleasanton. joe. reporter: downtown pleasanton, we peaked at 106 degrees a little while ago, liz. yes, i feel it. it is sweltering. it s dropped a few degrees since then but let me show you what i found right here in the heart of the town pleasanton. you can see what is a budding traffic jam here. people are lining up and driving through to get drive
appears to be kahlil tatum, african american male, tattoo on the arm, gunshot to the head, apparent suicide. it was early afternoon searchers discovered the body after five days, this fifth day of hunting in this park, but they are still looking for that body. this is what s really sad here, the body of 8-year-old relisha rudd. she was last seen alive with tatum on march 1st. on march 2nd he bought a shovel, garbage bags and lime according to police and then spent hours here at the park. on march 20th police say he murdered his wife and disappeared, but the police chief declines to say definitively if they have discovered his body. from everything that you could tell this could be kahlil tatum? i can t say one way or the other. right now we know it s an adult male. it appears to be a suicide. we re here obviously in a search for relisha. reporter: the chief describes a very methodical search of the 700 acres here at kenilworth park and aquatic gardens, aerial surveillance
