good to see you. nice to see you, too. this little bar has just reintroduced a 500-year-old tradition. in 1559, our old friend, the grand duke medici decreed that all the florentines could sell wines they produced on the country estates direct from little holes cut into the walls of city palaces instead of through taverns and innkeepers. in the 1500s, the family had to reset their business and do something different, it became a great business in that moment, for many families, because it was from producer to consumer. no middleman. so you would walk by, and you would buy a flask they had a little wooden door, there was a bell.
