The UC Santa Barbara Associated Students Senate unanimously passed the Candidate Endorsement Act, amending legal code to allow candidates in Associated Students elections to endorse one another, at its Feb. 14 meeting. From a young age, I participated in the Los Angeles Women’s March and read Audre Lorde religiously. The summer before my senior year I took part in Girls State, a week-long immersive summer program that teaches 500 young women from different corners of the nation how to govern imitation cities and states. Her first goal is to increase students' sense of belonging on campus, especially for those who are underrepresented.
