Businesses must utilise tax incentives from CPTPP

VOV.VN - Two years after coming into force, the rate of Vietnamese exports making use of the tax incentives brought about by the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has reached only 4%, according to the latest announcement published by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
With the rate of local exports taking advantage of the CPTPP tariff preferences in 2019 accounting for just 1.67%, there have been plenty of inadequacies recorded in terms of utilising the direct export benefits brought about by the trade pact.
Last year witnessed the nation’s exports to markets which have ratified the CPTPP gross an equivalent turnover to that of 2019 due to the adverse impacts brought about by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This therefore saw the rate of taking advantage of the tariff preferences set out within the CPTPP reach only 4%. ....
