New figures compiled by the bbc show that for the last six weeks of 2017 more than 75,000 patients were left in ambulances for 30 minutes or more. Thats one in every eight patients enduring a delay. And last week was the busiest ever for the nhs111 helpline it received more than 480,000 calls.
