Al Eby, a representative for Visit Woodland and an organizer for the 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. event, said organizers did not take this decision lightly and addressed concerns expressed by the community through social media.
“The 109-year-old Almond Festival is back for 2024.” the Esparto Regional Chamber of Commerce’s website emphasized. “The fun does not stop in Esparto. Every town up the valley will be offering their own twist on the Almond Festival, so you will want to be sure you won’t miss a thing.”
“We want you to know that we are extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished during our journey together,” an Oct. 24 Facebook post announcing the closure stated. “The past years have been an incredible adventure filled with cherished memories, valued connections and countless smiles.”
