Oak Harbor’s tennis coaching staff is “all in the family.” At Baywinds Tennis Club after a New Year’s tournament, head coach Rick LaFountain and assistants Greg LaFountain, Jacqueline (McClune) LaFountain, Connor Russell and Ashley (LaFountain) Russell. Connor Russell is Rick’s son-in-law and not on the staff.
Oak Harbor senior Brenen Ish and junior Kyle Glaser are the Rockets’ only returning letter winners from the 2019 tennis season.
“We have a bunch of athletic kids. I am hoping for continued improvement throughout the season,” Oak Harbor coach Rick LaFountain said. ....

Booker, Hallett combine for 44 points in Oak Harbor boys win

After a competitive first quarter, Oak Harbor outscored Edison by nine points in the second quarter and cruised to a 61-40 victory over the Chargers.
The Rockets (3-3, 2-0 SBC Bay) trailed 12-11 after the first quarter but outscored Edison, 18-9, in the second to take a 29-21 lead into halftime. Oak Harbor won the third quarter, 18-11, and held a 47-32 lead heading into the fourth.
Senior Blake Booker had another terrific performance, scoring 23 points and making three 3-pointers. T.J. Hallett made five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points.

Holding a 1-point lead, Old Fort outscored Oak Harbor by 10 points in the third quarter to take control in its 58-50 victory over the Rockets. ....
