En dos ocasiones, el Juego de Estrellas ha concluido empatado, la primera vez ocurrió el lunes 31 de julio de 1961 cuando se efectuaba el segundo choque de Estrellas de ese año en el Fenway Park, de Boston, pues el primero se había jugado en el Candlestìck Park, de San Francisco, el martes 11 de julio, el cual fue ganado por la Liga Nacional con pizarra de 5 – 4 en 10 actos.
Este encuentro fue suspendido por causa de las lluvias luego de haberse jugado 9 entrada completas. La carrera anotada por la Americana fue por un jonrón de Rocky Colavito en la primera entrada frente a Bob Purkey y la anotada por la Nacional fue producto de un sencillo de Bill White en la parte alta del sexto inning y remolcó a Eddie Mathews.

On May 29, 1952, Army draftee Willie Mays reported for duty at Fort Eustis in Newport News, Virginia. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year would see no action during his nearly two years of service except on the baseball diamond, as the center fielder for the Fort Eustis Wheels. Mays later estimated he played in about 180 games while in the Army.
