being weighed down by many weaknesses. at the heart of his vulnerability is of course his age. nearly half of democrats say it is their biggest concern and 74% of voters don t think he is sharp enough. if you are a liberal perhaps most worrisome of all an eye opening 67% of democrats prefer another candidate. let me reiterate. two-thirds of his own party want someone else to run. the issue is not just his age. nearly 60% of americans believe that biden has made the economy worse. in a moment james carville joins me to react to that but first here is a taste of how some democrats are spinning today. let s not forget donald trump has three fewer candles on his birthday cake than joe biden. sure. he also has 91 more criminal counts on his record than joe biden. if a year from now these numbers are the same, and this were a referendum, he would be in deep, deep trouble. he would not win that. joe biden has an incredible record to run on. i ll note this poll has a ....
nearly 60% of americans believe that biden has made the economy worse. in a minute, james carville joins me to react to all of that. first, here s another case of how some democrats are spinning today. let s not forget, donald trump has three fewer candles on his birthday cake than joe biden. he also has 91 more criminal counts on his record than joe biden. if, a year from now, these numbers are the same, and this were a referendum, he would be in deep trouble, he would not when that. joe biden has incredible record to run. i will note that this poll has a margin of error of 6% when you are talking about democrats. if jim messina says we are bed-wetters, invest in pampers and depends. because a lot of people are terrified that joe biden is in real trouble. joining me now is former league strategist for bill clinton s 1992 presidential campaign. and the coast co-host of politics war room. james carville himself. james, thank you for being here. these polls seem ....
these cases. and what? the worst-case mario might be that you get a knock at your door from the sergeant at arms, maybe a slap on the wrist? best-case an aerial, politically, you get a badge of honor that you stuck it to the man. they were really more afraid of ignoring a doj criminal subpoena then a congressional one and they took their chances time and time again that the doj wouldn t prosecute you for laughing at a congressional subpoena. you know what else? in the past, that very thought process paid off. but now, this conviction, well this series of convictions, now puts the light back in the dog because when you are facing some jail time suddenly people start to take your requests more seriously. now, people like congressman jimmy jordan of ohio who, incels, you will recall was roundly criticized for, shall we say, not prioritizing congressional subpoenas aimed at him. now he is in leadership. so the big question is what we see the flood gates began to open and su ....
leaders at odds over how to handle the ongoing conflict between israel and hamas. u.s. secretary state entity blinken met with foreign ministers from the middle east and jordan earlier today to discuss the conflict. leaders of egypt and jordan are strongly condemning israel s offensive and are demanding an immediate cease-fire. blinken opposes a cease-fire he is pushing for israel to allow pauses in its assault on gaza. united states believes all these efforts would be facilitated by humanitarian causes. we believe pauses can be a critical mechanism protecting civilians, getting aid in getting foreign nationals out. while still enabling israel to achieve its objective to defeat hamas. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu is rejecting calls for temporary cease-fire saying the country s military will only pull back when hamas frees all of its hostages but he adds his country will continue to block fuel from entering the region. meanwhile u.s. state department is ur ....
secretary of state antony blinken arriving israel a short while ago. this is his second trip to the middle east in less than a month. blinken is expected to discuss ways to free the remaining hostages, minimize harm to palestinian civilians, and get all who want to leave gaza out. we ve seen americans and their families begin to come out of gaza, and we expect that to continue over the coming days. this has been a very deliberate effort on our part working with other countries to make sure we can get passage out for our citizens and citizens from other countries. blinken s trip comes as israeli ground forces now gaza city, surrounded. and air strikes continue to pound hamas targets inside the strip. the conflict has, according hamas officials, killed more than 9000 people in gaza. more than 1400 israelis have also lost their lives. secretary blinken also says while they re dealing with getting the hostages released and minimizing civilian deaths, now is also the time to ....
