Municipal District (M.D.) of Pincher Creek council reviewed a request for a letter of support received from Xplornet Communications Inc. (XCI), unanimously agreeing to provide a letter.
The request from XCI highlighted the company’s intentions to build more internet infrastructure throughout rural Alberta to strengthen remote connections.

Town and Municipal District (M.D.) of Pincher Creek councils deliberated over the effectiveness of the joint funding process from the most recent round of applications during a virtual joint council meeting on January 14.
Both councils expressed satisfaction with the approval process, but councillors indicated that they wanted feedback from applicants about how they felt about the process.

Town coun. Scott Korbett opened with comments that he appreciated the process’s simplicity.
“I thought it was actually much better than last year. It was certainly a lot easier for me to do my evaluation, so I’m happy with that and I’d like to see it stand just the way it is for another cycle,” said Korbett. ....
