Emme-Rose and Lilli-Mae have raised money for Young Bay Hospitals Charity
Two young fundraisers who have donated more than Â£3,000 to charity have been invited for a VIP tour of their local hospital.
Emme-Rose Deakin, 6, ran a mile a day in January, raising Â£1,443 for the Bay Hospitals Charity.
Then in February, eight-year-old Lilli-Mae Archer took on a 5K a day challenge and raised a further Â£1,705.
To say thank you for their fundraising efforts, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust chief nurse and deputy chief executive Sue Smith OBE has invited Emme-Rose and Lilli-Mae to visit Furness General Hospital for a tour. ....

An eight-year-old girl from Barrow plans to walk 5km every day this month to raise money for Bay Hospitals Charity.
Lilli-Mae Archer raised more than Â£1,500 for the charity last year when she cycled 53 miles in a week, and has set herself an even bigger challenge this time around.
Lilli said: âI want to raise money for the NHS because I want to help all the sick people.
âMy nanna Karen works at Furness General Hospital and she tells me how hard they all work. I want to raise as much money as I can.â
Mum Steph said: âLilli-Mae is looking forward to walking 5k every day in February, even though this will be a challenge for her, to raise as much money as she can for Furness General Hospital. ....

A South Lakes mum has raised more than Â£25,000 forÂ hospital emergency, babies and children’s departments in the region.
Mum-of-two Louise Phillips who works with the occupational therapy team at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, held events for the Royal Lancaster Infirmary’s emergency department and the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust’s neonatal unit and children’s ward.
Her virtual Christmas fair, held via social media platform Facebook while she was on maternity leave, raised Â£12,500.
Louise, 39, of Kendal, said: âI got the idea for the Christmas fair one day when I started thinking, weâre in the middle of a pandemic – surely I can raise some funds for the NHS! ....

Carnforth community pulls together to help youngsters and elderly

The Carnforth community has pulled together to make sure that some of the areaâs youngest and elderly residents have the very best Christmas.
Carnforth Integrated Care Community (ICC) will deliver 12 Christmas hampers to the elderly and most isolated residents thanks to a donation of Â£250 from Carnforth Rotary Club. T
he hampers include donated items from the community including knitted scarves and hatsÂ and a hospital pack from Bay Hospitals Charity.
Around 300 children in Carnforth and the surrounding villages have also received a Â£10 Aldi voucher to spend on food over the Christmas period. ....
