Distraught family members holding on to hopes for hours devastated by the outcome after Sheriff Deputies recovered the body of their loved one. I mean its extremely tragic. You have this father who gave up his life for his own son. You know, there as bold as it was, it was a tragedy for the family. Reporter the Sheriffs Office said around 2 00 a family of four adults and eight children were heading out to the pond behind the parkway lakes rv park. I saw a variety of the adults and some kids and they were bringing their blankets. It looked like they were going to go swimming. They looked like they were going out to have a good time. Reporter a good time until one of the children went too far into the water. The father went after his child said to be four or five years old. He got him to safety, but then went under himself.
