PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has declared illegal an order of Nowshera’s district collector (deputy commissioner) to de-notify an award announced around two decades ago for acquiring 3,413 acres of land in Nowshera district for establishing an artillery range.
A bench consisting of Justice Roohul Amin Khan and Justice Mohammad Nasir Mahfooz accepted five petitions filed by several Nowshera residents against the Oct 7, 2019, de-notification by the district collector under Section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act.

Head teacher suspended, probe ordered

NOWSHERA: The Nowshera District Education Officer Sajjad Akhtar on Tuesday suspended a primary school head teacher and ordered a departmental inquiry against him.
The Principal of the Government High School Badrashi, Muhammad Fayyaz, was appointed the inquiry officer. KP Education Director, Hafiz Ibrahim, tasked Additional Director Establishment, Muhammad Iqbal with probing the case.
It may be mentioned here that a case was registered against the teacher Ayaz Ahmad at the Nowshera Kalaan Police Station for allegedly pointing a pistol at the Nowshera Kalan Government Primary School head teacher, Muhammad Aamir and threatening him in the presence of students and other staff and taking into possession illegally the official record.

NOWSHERA: Two patients died of Covid-19 while 85 more tested positive for the viral infection in the district on Thursday.
With the new casualties, the fatalities from the coronavirus reached 78 in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Mir Reza Ozgen said that a woman of Pabbi Town and a man identified as Noorul Basar of Badrashi, who were infected by the Covid-19, died while struggling for life athe Qazi Medical Complex. He said that the number of coronavirus-infected patients were increasing with passage of time as people were ignoring
the SOPs against the viral infection. He said that 85 more suspected patients tested positive for the coronavirus that took the number of patients suffering from the viral infection to 3,945. He said that 3,006 Covid-19 patients had recovered after medical treatment in the district so far
