Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) erupted in Assam, with effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah being burnt, and copies of the law torched. The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) burnt effigies in Lakhimpur, while the Congress protested in Guwahati and other parts of the district.
