The battle between the Muslim girls in Karnataka and the university and school administration over banning hijabs inside the institute is set to be dragged for a few more months.
"Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women," Malala Yousafzai, who in 2014 became the youngest-ever Nobel Prize winner for her work promoting girls' education, said.
His remark came as protests for and against the hijab intensified at colleges in different parts of Karnataka. When asked as to who were those inciting the students for not abiding by the dress code, the Union Minister said "some politicians and fanatics have made it an issue".
