The governor says the curve has been flattened and hospitalizations and icu numbers have leveled off. Widespread testing have to be available before the state can reopen. Governor newsom has set a goal of 60,000 tests each day, up from the 16,000 that are available right now. He also said President Trump told him the 100,000 testing swabs are on the way, with 250,000 coming to california the following week. The governor said ramped up testing will supporting strong Contact Tracing program to identify people who have been exposed to the virus. The governor did announce one modification to the current shelter in place, hes allowing hospitals to resume surgeries and other procedures that were delayed. The kelloggs plant. One of the officers was getting back into his squad car which was parked right here when a man in an suv started to ram his vehicle. You started hearing yelling. I knew something was going on. I went to my window. You could hear a streaking, the car streaking in the street. You heard one shot. And then five more shots. Pop, pop, pop. Reporter thats what the man who lives nearby heard as officers opened fire to protect their colleague. Police tell us this happened around midnight last night. One officer was entering his car when the suspect in a silver isuzue suv came around the corner and collided with the officers vehicle, backed up and rammed the car again. The two other officers opened fire. You may be able to see where one of the shots pierced the windshield. The officer, remarkably, was not hurt seriouslseriously. The driver of the suv fled and abandoned the vehicle about a mile away. It turns out the suv was stolen. Police found the suspect nearby, took him in
