While the navy did not release the type of aircraft involved the u. S. Seventh fleet said the uss Ronald Reagan is now conducting search and residue operations. The aircraft was flying to reagan at the time of the crash. The cause is unknown. The navy says the names of the crew and passengers are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
