Now from the west coast to the east coast, where we have our eyes on the sky. Heres a live look at satellite radar showing where the storm is coming from, from the south headed in our direction bringing that snow. Tammie souza is with us, you have been following this for days now. And its just about here. Weve been tracking this on the forecast models for about ten days, talking about it. The track was not really clear by all the models until late last night. Heres what to expect. With this storm, were going to see wet heavy show. Be careful shoveling. And you will be shoveling in parts of delaware and new jersey, maybe even parts of philadelphia. You could see several inches of snow. Its going to be wet and heavy. The roads will be slippery, starting late tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. This is going to be a long, long event. Please be careful when youre out and about. And then the roads are going to turn icy after dark, because the temperature will drop below freezing. Any of that snow that even melts or its slushy, it will turn into black ice on the roadways. Again, this is going to be all day tomorrow, in fact, its already underway right now for all of you in parts of Sussex County, you see that, and delaware. Also toward cape may, weve had reports of some light snow beginning to fall. Were seeing that transition from rain to snow on the doppler radar. Heres a wider picture. You can see where you see the rain is closer to the coastline, inland, we have nothing but snow that is falling. This extends all the way back into the deep south. Theyre getting snow in mississippi, alabama, georgia, all the way through the carolinas. That, again, is going to take about 12 to 18 hours to make its way out of our area. Lets walk you through, we have several different computer models. Im going to take you through our rapid precision model. Thats our inhouse model. They have come into agreement. This is what i like for the timing. Were seeing a little bit of mix and light snow falling in southern delaware, rehobeth beach, youll see a bit of a mix. By 9 00 it hasnt lifted too far to the north. Cape may, snowshowers, dover, maybe youre starting to see snowshowers. Its kind of coming in on an angle. Millville, youll be looking at snowshowers. Atlantic city the same thing. Now it starts to move northward. 7 00 in the morning, overhead in philadelphia, maybe the southern pennsylvania suburbs, and all of new jersey, we are going to see snow beginning to fall. These darker shades, thats where the heavier snow will be. Watch as it lifts to the north, the darkest shades still are going to be across new jersey. By noon tomorrow, its all the way up into the poconos, you notice the pink line right loin along the coastline. It may change back over to sort of a sleet or a mix of a rain and a snow. Because the Atlantic City ocean, of course, is just so warm. But look at the temperature profile. It is at or below freezing, 5 00 were still in the snow. Its starting to taper off by 10 00 tomorrow night. Temperatures well below freezing. Thats why we have concerns for the roadways out there early tomorrow morning and late tomorrow night. This is our rapid precision forecast model. Its saying we could see three to four inches across the area. I can buy that. It will pack down into wet sloppy snow. This is the north american model. Its hammering you with nine inches in rehobeth beach, five in philadelphia, three at mount pocono. That may be a little bit excessive. Part of that is simply because this is a wet, heavy snow. This is not one of those fluffy snows. Well see it transitioning from rain into snow and in some places back to rain. So our high tomorrow is going to be right around 34. Well see that snow all day tomorrow, but it is going to hover close to freezing. Yes, you can get snow above freezing. Were clear on sunday. Look at monday, we could see a flurry, but clouds move in. Our next chance of snow will be tuesday into wednesday. And we have another shot of snow as we head into next weekend. Wow. Definitely be careful on the roads. Youve got black ice, slippery conditions. And a busy weekend for people. Typically we get two inches snosnow of december. All of this is probably going to stick around for a while. This is the first one. We got to remind ourselves what this is like. Right shovel easily, take it easy out there. Watch steps, things are going to be slippery. All right. Still ahead at 4 00, bad for business, why the snow that could create a Winter Wonderland across our area is putting local Christmas Free farms in a panic.
