Can paper packaging be premium? - The Spirits Business

New drinks launches 29 January

Lockdown launch: Mooze 12% ABV gin alternative  Gin alternative Mooze was created during lockdown 2.0 when founder Mel Sims wanted to moderate her alcohol intake after her hospitality business was forced to close.  The 12% ABV, 18 calorie per serving, vegan-friendly pour is described as a “middle of the road” rather than “extreme” alternative to gin. It is also sugar and sweetener free.  The spirit goes through the same distillation process as gin, with its founder stating the 12% ABV means that the botanicals – juniper, cucumber, orange zest, clementine zest, macadamia nuts and coriander – come through into the drink better. Absolut paper bottle rolls out across UK market - Drinks Retailing News - The Voice of Drinks Retailing

 | 25 January, 2021 Pernod Ricard is rolling out its prototype Absolut Paper Bottle from today, initially just in the UK and Sweden. The bottle is the first step to achieving a fully bio-based bottle able to contain spirits. The producer said it will begin by testing an initial batch of 2,000 bottles amongst consumers.   The prototype is made up of recyclable content – 57% paper and 43% recycled plastic – with the plastic making up a thin layer within the bottle that can be successfully recycled after use. The normal Absolut glass bottle uses 47% recycled glass, which is world class when it comes to clear glass, and Absolut reuses almost one third of all clear glass recycled in Sweden.
