New Jersey Herald NEWTON A business owner and a welder were appointed to the Sussex County Community College Board of Trustees on Wednesday. At its meeting, the Sussex County Board of Commissioners named Kurt Gewecke, principal owner of the KG Companies, to a four-year term on the board. They appointed tradesman David Castner to fill out the remainder of the term of Howard Burrell, who resigned last fall after his election as mayor of Vernon Township. Under state law, community college board trustees cannot serveif they hold an elected position. Castner is a welder and involved in the trade s associations. Because the college is moving strongly into industrial trades education, the commissioners have made a point of wanting new trustees to have experience in those fields. ....
