When the City of Boise canceled their Fourth of July Fireworks in 2020, residents took matters into their own hands with an explosive number of home displays producing breathtaking images like this and videos full of booms like this.
Boise residents who didn t stay home to watch their neighbors blow stuff up fled to places like the Meridian Speedway, Brother s Park in Caldwell or the sports complex in Star to see a professional fireworks display. The city isn t ready to make an official announcement regarding this year s fireworks display at Ann Morrison Park, but these other cities have already started rolling out information about their Fourth of July celebrations online.

Due to COVID-19, Kuna had a less than traditional Movies on the Greenbelt season thanks to an early July public health order Central District Health put in place for Ada County. That order prohibited gatherings of 50 or more, both public and private. To comply, the Parks and Rec department canceled the remaining movie nights for 2020.

New data from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare shows that roughly a quarter of Idaho children diagnosed with a rare and sometimes fatal COVID-19 syndrome were Hispanic.
Idaho health officials have only recorded 24 cases of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, or MIS-C. The rare illness appeared in the U.S. a few months after the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. It appears to be a delayed reaction to the coronavirus and can show up weeks after exposure. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, vomiting, skin rash, diarrhea and low blood pressure.
City of McCall lifts mask mandate; COVID-19 cases still low, but Idaho adds 8 deaths Rachel Roberts, The Idaho Statesman
May 8 The McCall City Council on Thursday lifted the mask mandate that was in effect inside city limits.
The order was expected to expire May 26, but city leaders approved a series of four metrics to monitor the impact of COVID-19 in the area at an April 22 meeting. When three of the four metrics are met, the council can consider terminating the order.
With three of the four metrics satisfied as of Thursday, the council chose to remove the mandate. The four mandates are: biweekly case rates remain in the green zone for four weeks; Valley County vaccine uptake for 16+ years of age reaches at least 65%; Valley County test positivity percentage remains below 5%; at least one dose of vaccine for 65+ across the Central District Health region reaches 75%.
