Morgan Wallen won three top honors at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, despite being banned from appearing on the show.
The singer won Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album for “Dangerous: The Double Album,” yet was unable to accept the top honors in person.
Wallen was disinvited from the ceremony after TMZ leaked a video showing the country singer call one of his friends the N-word, while also yelling other expletives.
While Wallen apologized, claiming he was “embarrassed,” he was still barred from the event despite being nominated for six awards.
What ban? Morgan Wallen wins 3 Billboard Music Awards…
Morgan Wallen has won three Billboard Music Awards despite much of the music industry promising to ban the country star after he was caught on video using the n-word.
This weekend Billboard honored Morgan Wallen as the Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, and for the Top Country Album for his sophomore release “Dangerous: The Double Album.”
His three wins were announced online, but not mentioned during the Award’s television broadcast.
CMA takes a different approach
Just last week, the Country Music Association completely disqualified Wallen Wallen from top categories as entertainer of the year and male vocalist of the year.

“To have a husband that’s super supportive and knows how much it takes. I’m just very blessed.” Gabby’s husband is her guitar player Cade Foehner.
