Pyper Whitecotton and her mother Heather Forsyth will soon live comfortably.
Since birth, the Spruce Grove teenager has suffered from Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 (SMA2), a genetic neuromuscular disorder that affects the nerve cells which control voluntary muscles. Due to her disability, Pyper is bound to a wheelchair.
