Cattle smugglers attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan under Guwahati Frontier. The Jawan sustained injury in an along the India-Bangladesh border in Assam’s South Salmara-Mankachar district. The incident took place in an area that falls under the jurisdiction of Deepchar Border Outpost of 6 Battalion BSF under Guwahati Frontier in South Salmara-Mankachar district of state.
In a statement, BSF said, “The BSF personnel on duty observed a group of 20-25 cattle smugglers on both the sides of the international border and they were trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh side by taking advantage of fog and poor visibility. It further added, “The smugglers quickly encircled the jawan on duty and attacked him with bamboo sticks and sharp-edged cleaver. The jawan has received the first aid and was sent to nearest the PHC at Gajarkandi in Kukurmara under the South Salamara-Mankachar district of Assam.

AGARTALA: Under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme of the ministry of tourism, the Centre sanctioned of Rs 37.8 crores for the Development of Mata Tripurasundari Temple in Tripura.

ADB to give Rs 2100-cr loan to Tripura Govt for Urban & tourism development

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is likely to provide a Rs 2,100 crore loan to the Tripura government for the development of urban areas and tourism in the northeastern state that borders Bangladesh, officials said here on Tuesday.
According to Tripura s Urban Development and Tourism Department Secretary Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao, of the Rs 2,100 crore expected to be provided by the ADB as loan, Rs 1600 crore will be for urban development and Rs 500 crore for the tourism sector.
