The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is likely to provide a Rs 2,100 crore loan to the Tripura government for the development of urban areas and tourism in the northeastern state that borders Bangladesh, officials said here on Tuesday.
According to Tripura s Urban Development and Tourism Department Secretary Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao, of the Rs 2,100 crore expected to be provided by the ADB as loan, Rs 1600 crore will be for urban development and Rs 500 crore for the tourism sector.

Tripura Govt signs loan agreement with ADB, development of urban and tourism sector to begin soon
Under this loan, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is going to provide Rs 40 crores for the project design. 80% of the loan to be used as grant-in-aid.

Agartala: The Government of Tripura had signed the loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) sector in Tripura on December 18 for the development of urban areas and tourism sector in Tripura.
The Resident Commissioner of Tripura, Chitanya Murti IFS had signed the loan negotiation documents of the Project Readiness Finance PRF with Mr Takeo Kanishi, the Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB) in presence of Dr CS Mohapatra, the Additional Secretary Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
