Karnataka plans to take strict measures to restrict large gatherings such as marriages, social functions or public gatherings. But plans no restrictions on intra-State travel.
K Sudhakar, Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister, told media that guidelines have already been issued to all the districts to restrict large public gatherings. “Hotels and Marriage Halls have been instructed to take necessary steps to contain the infection from spreading. Precautionary guidelines have also been issued in this regard. We have banned late-night parties since more people gather in such places. As there is a spike in the cases in neighbouring States, we have taken all the steps to restrain it from spreading here.”

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], February 17 (ANI): The Central government plans to bolster the public healthcare system across the country by increasing the number of Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) from the current 60,000 to 150,000 by December 2022, Union Health and Family Welfare Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Wednesday.
Bhushan said his ministry is also creating a new cadre of Community Health Officers (CHOs), which is basically populated by BSc nursing professionals. There are other professionals also who will be manning this cadre to operationalise the HWCs.

A dry run of the Covid-19 vaccination programme will be held in four states to test the planned operations and the laid-out mechanisms for the coronavirus inoculation drive.
The dry runs will be carried out today (28 December) and tomorrow (29 December) in Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, day after recording the lowest daily Covid-19 cases in nearly six months.
