Greenville, Sinoe County – The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with funding from the Swedish government has extended its Sexual and Reproductive Health Program targeting adolescent boys and girls to Sinoe County. The program was launched over the weekend in Greenville, the capital of Sinoe at a colorful event attended by officials of the United Nations and the Government of Liberia including UN Resident Coordinator, Neils Scott, the Minister of Health, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah and UNFPA Country Representative, Dr. Bannet Ndyanabangi.

The Swedish Government through the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) has extended its Youth Friendly Centre that provides education to both boys and girls on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) to Sinoe County. The decision to extend the BRAC implemented program comes shortly after joint members of a high delegation that included Ingrid Wetterqvist, Swedish Ambassador to Liberia, UNFPA Country Representative, Dr. Bannet Ndyanabangi, and Assistant Minister for Curative Services, Ministry of Health, Dr. Gorbee Logan, gathered many positive success stories from Grand Gedeh and River Gee counties where there is reportedly a huge reduction in teenage pregnancy and maternal mortality.

The platform launched March 8, in celebration of International Women s Day, with a national ad campaign titled In the Zone that spans TV, digital, and social media, according to a press release. The 30-second spot links DoorDash and basketball through spoken-word narration while aiming to celebrate women making history. Made by Women focuses on the hundreds of women-owned independent restaurants across more than 40 U.S. states that are searchable on DoorDash by keyword women owned.
