LAHORE: Punjab Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam has said a gradual decrease in COVID-19 infection rate has been witnessed in the province.
According to a handout issued here on Sunday, during a daily review meeting of activities of Covid-19 across the Punjab, it was informed that 146 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of cases to 346,728. Until now 327,753 patients have fully recovered across the province while the number of active cases is 8 203.
In the last 24 hours, 17,406 test samples were taken while a total of 5,708,442 tests have been taken so far. In the previous 24 hours, coronavirus caused five more deaths across the province, including two in Lahore, bringing the total number of deaths to 10,772.

LAHORE: The Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is launching special drive against measles from July 5 to 10 in two districts.
According to the P&SHD spokesperson on Sunday, the anti-measles drive would be launched in 44 Union Councils (UCs) of Lahore and Rawalpindi districts.
In this campaign, children from 6 months to 5 years of age will be administered with the measles vaccine.
The P&SHD has urged the parents to ensure the vaccination of their children against measles to protect them from the disease.
It is pertinent to mention here that the measles was a dangerous and fast spreading contagious disease which spread through coughing.

Six more die from coronavirus in province

LAHORE: Coronavirus claimed another six lives while 128 new cases were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
According to the data shared by a spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the death toll, due to coronavirus, reached 10,767 while the number of total cases reached 346,582 while 327,686 patients recovered in the province. According to the data provided by the P&SHD, currently 8,129 corona patients are under treatment in different hospitals. The Health Department conducted 16,973 tests for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours which turned the total tests to 5.69 million so far.
