Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity ratio has dropped to 4.82 percent, the lowest level in 10 weeks, as 2,253 new infections emerged over the past 24 hours, said the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday.
The country reported an 8.5 percent average positivity rate during the last 30 days. As per official figures provided by the NCOC, Pakistan reported 2,253 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 905,852. The country’s death toll climbed to 20,400 after 92 more people succumbed to the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, 2,783 patients recovered from the deadly disease in a day taking total recoveries to 823,157. According to NCOC, total active Covid-19 cases across the country were reported to be 62,295.

Pakistan’s coronavirus cases have surpassed the grim milestone of 900,000 after 3,084 new infections emerged during the last 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said on Sunday.
According to the NCOC, the Covid-19 claimed the lives of 74 more people across the country over the last 24 hours, taking the death toll from the disease to 20,251.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus positivity rate in Pakistan stood at 4.46 percent with 62,620 active cases across the country. In a positive sign, 3,826 more people recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours, pushing the number of those recovering to 817,681. There are 4,392 infected patients in critical care in various hospitals across the country.

LAHORE : The district administration on Saturday observed anti-dengue day with an aim to create awareness among people about adopting prevention measures against dengue virus.
In this regard, walks were arranged in different parts of the City besides holding anti-dengue activities.
An awareness walk was held at Deputy Commission’s Office led by DC Muddasir Riaz Malik while officers of different department, representatives of NGOs and civil society participated in the walk.
The participants were carrying banners, poster inscribed with different slogans about safety measures from dengue mosquitoes.
The DC said that steps were being taken for the elimination of dengue larva, however, the cooperation of citizens was imperative in this regard.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has announced the opening of anti-Covid vaccine registration for persons aged 30 years and above from Sunday (May 16).
Asad Umar, who also heads National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), said in a tweet on Wednesday that the decision has been taken in view of the improved vaccine supply and vaccination capacity in all the federating units.
“As vaccine supply continues to improve and vaccination capacity gets enhanced in all federating units, we continue to expand the categories of those who are eligible to get vaccinated,” Umar tweeted.

Pakistan has surged past another grim landmark for coronavirus deaths as it reported 113 new fatalities during the last 24 hours, taking the total death tally to 19,106 nationwide.
According to the data provided by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday, 3,084 people tested Covid-19 positive during the last 24 hours after 38,883 tests were conducted, taking the total caseload to 864,577. The coronavirus positivity ratio has reached 7.93 percent.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 766,492 people have recovered from the virus so far.
The highest number of deaths have been reported from Punjab 9,125. Around 4,750 deaths have been reported from Sindh, over 3,600 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 716 from Islamabad, 253 from Balochistan, 508 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 107 from Gilgit-Baltistan.
