Daytona State College nears start of on-campus dorm construction

I think it’s an important addition to us being able to fulfill our mission, LoBasso said. There have been a lot of articles  about community colleges across  the country offering this, because apartments are getting expensive. So, I think this is an important asset to have for our students. The residence hall will be built on the site of the buildings 210 (Karl Learning Resources Center) and 340 (Davidson Hall), which were both more than 40 years old and have been demolished. The new dorms will be adjacent to the bookstore, the Greene Center and the Arts & Sciences Hall.   It ll help retention of students involved in this housing because they’re right here on  campus. The library’s right here. The tutoring is right here, LoBasso said.
