At a hearing in this room several months ago, i heard one of the commissioners say the district has a target on its back. Pot our community is feeling pressure of unaccount be development for some time and were here before you today because we have solutions and we need your support. They had a neighborhood strategy and one of the clear recommendations that emerged from that strategy process was to create a housing plan for the neighborhood. One that would consider the incomes of local residents that would account for displacement that is occurring in our neighborhood. Two years later, the housing plan has not happened and so we are stuck responding to market rate after Market Rate Development at the same time that Affordable Housing projects weve advocated for have met delay after delay.
