Daytona State College has selected Hope Clark as its new head women’s soccer coach. Clark brings 20 years of coaching experience to Daytona State, including 12 as a head coach at the college level. She officially joins the Falcons on June 1.
“I am incredibly grateful to President Tom LoBasso and Robin Barr (Interim Director of Athletics) for giving me this opportunity to lead the Daytona State College women’s soccer program and I would like to thank the search committee for their tireless efforts in this process,” said Clark. “My family and I are excited about beginning this next chapter in our lives and we are looking forward to becoming an integral part of this excellent institution and community.”
I think it’s an important addition to us being able to fulfill our mission, LoBasso said. There have been a lot of articles about community colleges across the country offering this, because apartments are getting expensive. So, I think this is an important asset to have for our students.
The residence hall will be built on the site of the buildings 210 (Karl Learning Resources Center) and 340 (Davidson Hall), which were both more than 40 years old and have been demolished. The new dorms will be adjacent to the bookstore, the Greene Center and the Arts & Sciences Hall. It ll help retention of students involved in this housing because they’re right here on campus. The library’s right here. The tutoring is right here, LoBasso said.
