CARLSBAD, Calif. Police cleared the scene Monday night after investigating a bomb threat at La Costa Resort & Spa, the Carlsbad Police Department reported. The response came after a suspicious phone call was made to the resort, according to a tweet from the agency.
At 7:40 p.m., police said the scene was cleared and the threat to the resort was found to be false.
Carlsbad Police thanked multiple agencies for their assistance including a California Highway Patrol K-9 unit from Oceanside, a Marine Corps K-9 unit, Carlsbad firefighters and San Diego sheriffs along with resort management and security.

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) â Carlsbad Police officers were called to a resort on Monday over a reported bomb threat following a suspicious phone call.
Officers responded to the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa at 2100 Costa Del Mar Rd. just before 4 p.m. Monday. According to a CPD spokesperson, the department was using an abundance of caution and investigating a bomb threat based on a suspicious phone call to the property.

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) The body of a man found floating in the water off the coast of Carlsbad Thursday has been identified as 34-year-old Samuel Palava Santillan, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner.
California Park rangers were contacted just before 11 a.m. about the discovery north of Lifeguard Tower 38.
Authorities said surfers in the area saw a body floating nude in the water and reported the discovery to lifeguards.
Lifeguards performed CPR on the man at the scene, but Santillan was pronounced dead.
