Benefits of Being a B Corp: Athleta, Vivobarefoot, Patagonia s Journey – Sourcing Journal

The minimalist-footwear company got its wish last September, joining the likes of Eileen Fisher, Patagonia, Toms and other mission-driven businesses that hew to exacting standards of corporate governance, worker engagement, environmental management and transparency to balance profit with purpose. “Vivobarefoot was set up to be a benefit to society, to be a net-positive business for people and the planet,” Galahad Clark, the seventh-generation Clark Shoe dynasty scion who founded the brand in 2012, told Sourcing Journal. “B Corp status helps to ground our impact to society, set priorities, improve our policies, learn from the community and overall make us a better business and organization.”

Startup Trove Raised $72 Million to Help Brands Like Lululemon Sell Resale

Reuters Trove is gaining significant clout in the retail industry for helping major brands launch resale.  Lululemon announced it partnered with the company to debut its new secondhand program, Like New   This is a new way customers shop. It s an opportunity to provide customers with an innovative model for resale, Trove s CEO said. Say Yes to the Giant Dress

When RiRi took to the red carpet of the Met Ball a few years ago wearing designer Guo Pei’s epic yolk-yellow concoction, the internet went mad. But who’s laughing now? As usual, our girl was on the money long before the rest of the world caught up. But if you can’t afford the frankly insane prices of such haute couture ensembles, never fear: there are always ways to fake epic fabulosity. That’s the great thing about Giant Dress. There are no rules. Any old bolt of fabric can be transformed into a new look. If you’re not crafty, the fashion world is more than happy to accommodate. Everlane’s tiered option is super cute. Is it a dress or a waterfall? It’s both! For the staider fashionistas, there’s always Eileen Fisher, in neutral colours and quality fabrics.

I love to dig my toes into the suctioning sand and feel the swirl of a receding wave. Though often my feet find sharp things in the soft sand not just gravel and pebbles but also, increasingly and overwhelmingly, plastic. I try to collect the shards, the bits of aquas, whites, and teals, but soon I give up, angry and defeated. There is too much. So much of it is too tiny to hold or even see.
