Delhi s Base Hospital Commandant transfer routine posting, part of larger HR management plan: Indian Army

Representative Image ANI | Updated: May 13, 2021 16:18 IST New Delhi [India], May 13 (ANI): Taking note of media reports raising suspicion on the sudden transfer of Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, Commandant Major General Vasu Vardhan, the Indian Army on Thursday called it a routine posting carried out as part of a larger HR management plan. It is clarified that the posting order is part of a larger HR management plan within the Armed Forces Medical Services. The current Commandant who has completed a tenure of more than 18 months is scheduled to superannuate in August 2021. The second senior-most officer in the same hospital, Brig Sandeep Thareja who stands approved for promotion to the rank of Major General is also scheduled to be posted out on promotion in the same timeframe, Indian Army said in a statement.

In a tweet, the minister informed that he would also visit the COVID-dedicated hospital set up by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Lucknow. Going to Lucknow today. Shall visit the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Covid Hospital which has been set up by DRDO and also visit the Covid dedicated hospital set up by HAL in the city, Singh tweeted.

URL copied COVID-dedicated DRDO hospital with 500 beds opens in Lucknow The crisis of hospital facilities in Lucknow will ease to an extent on Wednesday when the 500-bed makeshift Covid hospital set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Awadh Shilpgram on Shaheed Path becomes operational. The hospital will start functioning almost a fortnight after DRDO stepped in to set up the facility at the instance of Lucknow MP and defence minister Rajnath Singh. With the addition of 500 beds, the city will now have 7,000 beds for Covid patients, though most of them are occupied. DRDO director Narendra Kumar Arya said, The makeshift hospital at Awadh Shilpgram in Lucknow will be operational from Wednesday noon. The hospital has the capacity of 500 beds, including 150 ICU and 350 general beds which are also equipped with oxygen.
