Idaho reports more than 1,100 new coronavirus cases, 29 new deaths statewide

Idaho reported 827 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus Thursday and 346 probable cases, counting a total of 1,173 new cases reported in one day. The state also reported 29 new deaths related to COVID-19.
Ada County confirmed 305 new cases of the virus, bringing the countywide total to 33,196 confirmed infections on Thursday, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Twelve people from Ada County were reported dead Thursday due to COVID-19-related causes, bringing the county death toll to 355 people.
Canyon County confirmed 89 new cases of the virus, bringing the countywide total to 17,927 confirmed infections, according to Southwest District Health.

Idaho recorded the lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in a single day since Nov. 1, according to data shared by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare on Sunday.
The decline comes as the state surpassed a significant milestone in its rollout of vaccinations against coronavirus infection â more than 10,000 doses of vaccines have been given to Idahoans.
Statewide, officials reported 326 new confirmed and 97 new probable cases of COVID-19 on Sunday for a total of 423 new cases. Itâs the lowest number of confirmed cases in nearly two months and the lowest number of total cases since early October, as Idaho has seen a sustained surge in COVID-19 infections.

Ada and Kootenai counties accounted for more than half of Idahoâs new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
The Gem State reported 855 new confirmed cases and 312 new probable cases for a total 1,167 cases, according to state and public health district data.
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare added 349 new cases of COVID-19 to Ada Countyâs tally, bringing the countyâs total to 31,485 overall. However, the countyâs true caseload is still unclear as Boise-based Central District Health works through a significant backlog of cases. CDH estimates the 14-day average incidence rate in Ada dropped from 85 to 67 cases per 100,000 residents last week.
