morning, aaron. the closure will start at 12:01 saturday. stay that way through metro closing on sunday. so if you're out late tonight you could be impacted. buses are going to replace trains between eastern market on the orange line and between eastern market and benning road on the blue and silver line. there are a number of stations that are going to be closed, here at stadium armory. the other stations that you'll want to look out for are potomac avenue, minnesota avenue and deanwood. green, blue, silver lines will run every 15 minutes or so and the red lines should run every 20 minutes. i should note something happening here at this particular station on sunday. they'll be doing a full scale emergency response drill. trying to prepare in the case of smoke and fire in the tunnels. something similar to what happened at l'enfant plaza about a year ago. so look out for that as well. that's going to happen at 7:45 to about 10:00 here on sunday morning. reporting live in southeast firefighters broke the front window to fight the flames inside. no word on how much damage was caused. we have a word in to the fire department to find out if anyone was injured. jamyra gallmon pleaded guilty to killing david messerschmitt earlier this year. dominique johnson pleaded guilty with gallmon to rob him. messerschmitt posted an ad on craigslist and looking for other men. gallmon could face up to 25 years in prison today when she's sentenced. a montgomery county man accused of trying to cook meth at a federal facility will be in court today. the fbi says christopher bartley triggered an explosion at the national institute of standards and technology last month in gaithersburg. he was a leader of the police force there. he's facing a single charge of trying to manufacture methamphetamine. if convicted he cold spend as much as 20 years in prison. students past and present will gather today to remember a montgomery county high school principal. a memorial service will be held tonight for wootton high school principal michael doran. police found him dead in his apartment on wednesday. they believe the 64-year-old died of natural causes. it will take place at wootton stadium at 6:00. grief counselors will be on hand to support students and families. i'm kristin wright at the live desk, following a big explosion in los angeles. it happened downtown. it was an underground blast from below the 19 story office building. there are firefighters doing into the building there. these are pictures from inside of this office building. the explosion is loud, felt for blocks. even knocked the power out down the street at the staples center during a shania twain concert. the explosion sparked a fire. you can see the smoke there. there were people hurt. several sounds like not badly though. our sister station is reporting that a generator may have exploded. back to you. >> thanks. 6:05 now. a gas explosion destroyed part of a new york city high school. take a look here. this was john f. kennedy high school in the bronx. it happened last night. crews were working on the sixth floor there when they hit a gas line in the school's chemistry lab. three construction workers were seriously burned. first day of school is supposed to be september 9th. police in thailand are preventing more bombings. police say they're patrolling an increasing -- and increasing the plainclothes officer presence around the tourist sites. 130 people were hurt. government officials say the motive was to damage thailand's economy. today, you may want to head to the norton job fair here in the district if you're looking for a new gig. it takes place today at the washington convention center in northwest. you can get tips on updating your resume, you can do some are four new fires that broke out close to where two massive explosions levelled that chemical warehouse in tianjin last week killing 114 people. at the same time, people are worried about the long term and their health. water tests show high levels of cyanide. you see the testing being done there in the ground. high levels of cyanide, in the evacuation zone. workers there in protective suits he's innocent. it seems people in the shaw neighborhood are still concerned about growing violence there and an advisory neighborhood commissioner spoke with neighbors about safety concerns in the meeting last night. >> i keep hearing from everyone, except a few that we need the vice units back. >> several d.c. police union members say bringing back the vice units would help. king plans to turn himself in. we're working to find out if that's happened yet. today, two 13-year-old girls will face a judge in a milwaukee court. they are charged with stabbing a classmate. 19 times last year, to appeal to the made-up character slender man. the girls both charged with attempted homicide. they are being tried as adults. both expected to enter pleas in the case today. north korea says that it is preparing for war after exchanging artillery fire with the south. this morning the north says it placed the front line troops in a quasi state of war. south korea warning the north from taking any rash actions. on thursday, south korea fired several rounds of artillery into the north. north korea -- i should say the south into the north after north korea sent shells across the border. 6:18. developing right now, a red flag warning in place in parts of washington state. low humidity, high winds and high temperatures making the battle against wildfires there much harder. the government says the state is focusing a quote on an unprecedented cataclysm. this comes as the three firefighters who died were escorted out of the area in a somber procession. andrew zayak and tom zbyszewski and richard wheeler died after their truck crashed and they were overcome by flames. this is zbyszewski's parents speaking about their son. they say he was a gifted student who loved helping others and that is what led him to fight fires. >> i felt so proud to have him there. >> he was a special kid, you know? we're really going to miss tom. >> four other firefighters were injured in that crash. right now, hurricane danny losing steam. danny is the first atlantic hurricane of the season. overnight, danny's winds fell to about 80 miles per hour. the u.s. national hurricane center says danny it near there. perhaps maybe near puerto rico. dominican republic by later part of the weekend. and into the first part of next week. but it is a hurricane now. we won't have to worry about it. it will stay out to sea. right now in the 60s. low humidity has moved in. a little bit of a breeze coming in out of the north and west. still rather humid around the bay. hang on, that low humidity is coming your way over the next several hours. there is the sky looking at it from our tower camera this morning. sunrise at 6:27. temperatures in the low to mid 70s through 8:00. lower humidity moves coming up in a couple of minutes. 6:22 and new this morning you'll want to watch wall street today because stocks in asia are falling. taiwan, china, japan, they all dropped by 1% or more and investors could be worried about the possible interest rate hike from the federal reserve here. the fed said the u.s. is quote approaching conditions for a rate hike a few days ago. we ourselves came to ranger school skeptical. with our guards up, ready just in case, you know, the haters and the naysayers. but we didn't come with a chip on our shoulder like we had anything to prove. >> that is one of the two women who will graduate today as an army ranger. first lieutenant shaye haver and captain kristen griest will receive the coveted ranger tab alongside 94 male soldiers. they received of people a lot of good. scientists at johns hopkins say the videos helped with als research. they say the more than $220 million raised funded studies of approaching that could help disease cells return to normal. well, virginia apparently is the eighth worst state when it comes to women's equality. education and political empowerment was looked at in virginia and it found 37% more men than women hold positions as executives. there was a 47% gap in getting an education and political representation. lots of students and parents around american universities, it's move in weekend. the school is asking you to exercise some patience. extra patience and caution if you'll be driving through that area. well, speaking of dorms a local mother and daughter duo have turned their ideas into a successful business. karen zuckerman and her daughter amanda own the online retailer dormify, selling art work and other things for dorms. they started a few years ago when amanda was looking to following that from the hill. >> reporter: it's hitting very close to home, in fact the associated press saying it comes right here to the house and the senate. some of the computers that logged on to the website. we are learning a lot more about the consequences for those who are involved in logging on to the ashley madison website. 13,000 of those e-mail addresses were government and military addresses. now, it's against military law to cheat on your spouse. so there could be criminal charges now for those service members who cheated on their spouse through that website. it also affects the departments of state, justice, energy, treasury and transportation i.p. addresses led to all of the departments. most were g-mail accounts with yahoo! coming in second. right behind it. now we are talking about 28 million men and 5 million women who have signed up for this site. the associated press is reporting that federal workers actually accessed the site from their workstation in their cubicle or offices. now, they found that -- the socialed -- the associated press found out about that and washington, d.c. is known as the least faithful city in the united states. >> edward lawrence, thank you. today a woman who was shot by a d.c. police officer after she refused to drop a knife is back in court. renita nettles will head to court this morning for a mental observation hearing. this is what played out. nettles started a fire in a house on clay terrace northeast earlier this month and as police and fire crews arrived nettles walks toward an officer holding a knife. she had used a mixture of pcp and synthetic drugs. the hearing was supposed to happen yesterday. today a manassas man will be sentenced after pleading guilty to a deadly hit and run in prince george's county. jacky luangraj could face up to five years in prison. he hit and killed janelle oni last year in college park. police say that he smelled of alcohol. we are learning that several of the victim's family members are expected to be in court today. a teenager charged in a triple shooting in southeast will remain in jail. that's according to "the washington post." kevin lee is being charged as an adult with second degree murder in the shooting of tanika fontanelle. it happened on tuesday afternoon. police say the 17-year-old got into a fight with his 12-year-old neighbor. the teenager got a gun and went to the boy's apartment. shots were fired and both boys were hit along with the 12-year-old's mother. 6:34. the tidal reservoir inlet bridge in d.c. will be closing soon. you might be like where's that? well, look, right there on the map, it's the road affected by this too. news4's darcy spencer found her way to the bridge to tell us what to expect. darcy? >> reporter: well, that's right. that's what we were asking this morning where is this bridge? but chances are if you came down to see the cherry trees, you have walked, driven over the bridge, but you didn't realize it was called the inlet bridge. this is ohio drive, so imagine that beautiful views of the thomas jefferson as well as the monument. take a look over here. a guy is doing some fishing off the bridge here morning. it is very popular. it is going to shut down right around 6:30 this evening and it will stay closed all weekend long. what that means you won't be able to drive over the bridge, drive your bicycle or walk over the bridge because it's getting some much needed repairs. this bridge is over 100 years old. it is in need of some rehab. we are showing you some video we shot before the sun rose this morning. even in the hours we could see people over here driving. some joggers out early this morning so this could be an inconvenience for people planning to come down here to the tidal basin area this weekend. so be aware. there could be some lane closures that happen before 6:30, but it will be shut down 6:30 this evening and remain closed all weekend long. but they're saying they'll get it fairfax county police officer adam torres. the police commander secretly taped a conversation between the internal affairs commander and the chief deputy county prosecutor. the revelation of the taping came this week in an unsealed case file as part of deputy county attorney's grievance against the county. the recordings happened in 2013. during the call, the internal affairs commander was looking for internal affairs files on officer torres. republicans focusing again on immigration in decision 2016. presidential candidate donald trump will host a rally in alabama. trump and jeb bush are both being criticized for using the term quote anchor babies. the term refers to babies of undocumented immigrants born in the u.s. automatically becoming citizens. new polls show trump is now overcrowding and according to our news partners at wtop, people say that the land that the school is to be built on is too small for it. members of the montgomery county council are concerned about her e-mail and her poll numbers are looking shaky. nbc news white house correspondent kristen welker is live from martha's vineyard with this. >> reporter: that's right. hillary clinton's campaign is being overshadowed by the e-mail issue. she has been on defense and now a sharp rebuke from a federal judge who found on thursday that he believes she did in fact violate policy by using a private e-mail account while serving as secretary of state. all of this is making some democrats very jittery about her chances in the general election. you mentioned her poll numbers. they have dipped. she's dipped below 50% in the latest cnn poll. that's the first time she's been that low in that poll. and we're also seeing her unfavorable ratings go underside down. so a lot of concern. all of that is fuelling momentum for joe biden to get in the race. he has been talking to his allies and closest supporters about this. we anticipate to get a decision some time around labor day or a few weeks after that. but back to the e-mail issue, the campaign is releasing scandal fact check. she is scheduled to testify on this on capitol hill in october. of course there's still an ongoing fbi investigation metro station with what we need to know. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. you know, it is such a drag on the weekend, you leave the house and you think errands will take an hour or two, but it takes all day because metro is not working on the way it should. or maybe you went out with friends and the metro station is down. if you're not careful it could happen this weekend. they'll be using buses to connect the dots. we are here at the stadium armory, one of the metro stations that will be down. other stations that will be impacted potomac avenue, minnesota avenue and deanwood. buses are replacing trains on the orange line between eastern market and the benning on the blue and silver. the closures start at 12:01 saturday morning. if you're out past your curfew, you could be impacted. that's going to go until sunday closure for metro. also on sunday happening here at stadium armory they'll be doing some drills trying to replicate what happened at l'enfant plaza a year ago
